Irish residency, and the three-year tail

Two calculators: whether you're Irish tax resident this year on the day-count rules, and, separately, when the ordinary-residence tail actually clears once you leave. Nobody else shows you the second one.

1. Are you Irish tax resident this year?

Any part of a day present in Ireland generally counts as a full day, Irish day-counting is stricter here than some other countries. Ireland's tax year runs 1 January to 31 December.

2. The ordinary-residence tail

Were you Irish tax resident for three or more consecutive tax years right before you became (or plan to become) non-resident?

Assumes you stay non-resident throughout the years shown, if you spend enough days back in Ireland in any of those years to become resident again under the day-count tests above, the clock resets. Indicative only, not personal tax advice, confirm your dates and domicile position with an Irish-qualified adviser. See the full explainer for what the tail actually restricts.
